At S.A. RABBIT RESCUE we offer all unwanted domestic rabbit owners a place to safely relinquish their pet rabbits. We understand that there are circumstances where owners can no longer keep or maintain their pets and we offer a friendly, safe home based shelter to these animals.
We ask that you book your rabbits in for relinqueshing at least 24 hours in advance or by arrangment with shelter staff, this is so we can make sure each bunny has a comfortable hutch to move into and that health checks can be booked.
A small fee is payable at drop off. From $25.00 per rabbit to cover costs .
Adoptions are by appointment, we only adopt out bunnies after a play date with the family/person and an application for bunny is made to staff.

All rabbits over 12 weeks are vaccianted for VHD.Calici virus.

With over 30 years experience in pet care as a Senior Vet Nurse and in Wildlife Care for many years in North East Victoria, Sally offers that special care only someone devoted to animals can provide. Dave and other volunteers offer their support to the shelter in many ways like building new enclosures and the easy stuff like answering the phones and taking messages. S.A. RABBIT RESCUE also has many friends that assist in the care of the rabbits and in our team who visit Nursing Homes to share the love of our furry friends.

S.A. Rabbit Rescue has been taking in unwanted bunnies since 2004.
We will work towards animal wefare in particular the care and education of rabbit owners, rabbits are silent little animals that have no voice of their own to ask for a fair go.
Rabbits are cute and pleasing pets but are still treated in the community like ferral animals when in fact they are victims of a pet orientated community that takes no responsibility for its actions.

Our mission / purpose is to safely rehome domestic pet rabbits that have been left unwanted in our community. We believe in the highest quality products and care for all of our rescue rabbits. We believe that education is the key to good pet care and a respect for all living things is a thing all humans need to learn.
